"Earlier this month, human rights body Amnesty International said China, Iran, the United States, Vietnam and Saudi Arabia were the world's top five users of the death penalty although more and more countries were abolishing or suspending it".
There are certain cases I firmly believe the only suitable punishment is the death penalty. With that having been said, I am surprised to find the US on a list with the other countries listed.
I do believe also though that the manner in which it has been utilized in this country needs to be reviewed. No innocent person should be on death row, and death row inmates who have been on it 20 yrs who do not contest their guilt should be dealt with.
Terrorists, monsters who abduct and rape/kill children, anyone who commits an unjustified murder (ie it wasn't self-defense or accidental) should definitely be death penalty material IMHO.
